St Patricks Day Origin

St Patricks day was made an official day of feast for the christians, in the early 17th century. And celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general.  And lenten restrictions on eating and drinking are lifted for that day.  it is a public holiday on the republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
